Building Food Webs
Part I
Chain: berries -> deer -> bear -> tapeworm (which goes back to berries)

Part II
Producers: make their own food with photosynthesis
-plants & trees -berries -pecans
Consumers: get energy from other organisms
a. Hervibores: only eats plants
-deer -catterpillar -mouse -rabbit -grasshopper -moth
b. Carnivores: only eats meat
-copperhead -owl -wolf -spider
c. Omnivore: eats meat & plants
-bear -hawk -fox -mockingbird
Decomposers: recycle nutrients from dead organisms
-mushrooms
Part III
All energy is provided by the sun.

Parasitism: + -
mushrooms & trees: mushrooms break down the tree's nutrients while trees get weaker |
Part V
Decidious
If the owl population decreased, then the prey population may increase.
Decomposer - mushrooms
At the top of the food chain, there are bears, hawks, owls, foxes, and wolves
Savanna
If the zebra population began to decrease, then it's predators may decrease as well.
Energy that powers the web comes from the sun
Acacia tree gets eaten by termites, therefore, termites get a meal while the tree gets weaker, a parasite-host relationship
Freshwater
If the producers died out, then the whole ecosystem would die out, or move elsewhere.
Algae, water plants, duckweed, cattails/weeds get the most amount of energy.
If the frog population increases, its prey will decrease, but the predators will increase.
Rainforest
Some herbivores are butterflies, beetles, macaw, and ants.
Exotic roses, fruit trees, orchid, banana trees, and the canopy get the most energy.
If all the insects died, then the rest of the organisms would have to adapt and eat something else, or move.
Desert
Owl -> Jackrabbit is a predator -> prey relationship.
Prickly pear, joshua tree, cactus and grass are all autotrophs.
If the mountain lion population increased, then the preys would decrease, and THEIR prey would increase, making producers increase
Marine
A commensalistic relationship in this ecosystem would be the clownfish living in the anemone.
A mutualistic relationship would be shrimp and fish
Parasite-host relationship would be nematodes and mullets.
A carnivore in the food web is a shark.
