-Coefficients and Subscripts
-Coefficients are the number of molecules of the compound listed.
-Subscripts are the number of atoms of an element.
-Stoichiometry
-The relationship between the weights of the reactants and the products of a chemical reaction.
-Law of Conservation of Mass
-Matter can't be created or destroyed.
-Balancing the UNBALANCED
-Start withe the first element on the reactant side.
-Count the number of atoms
-Go to the same element on the product side
-Count the number of atoms
-If the atom counts don't match add a coefficient in front of the element or compound to equal the atoms on both sides of the equation.
-Zn + HCl --> ZnCl2 + H2 (Unbalanced).
